Born in a coconut grove and still too small to reach a single one. Doesn't stop him from trying. Every morning he stretches his little trunk up as far as it goes, wiggles it around, and gets absolutely nowhere. Sometimes a coconut rolls down on its own and he acts like he did that. Wears a little vest made out of coconut shell — his grandpa made it for him and he has never taken it off. Not for bath time. Not for bed. It's a little too big on him and it clicks when he walks. Carries a coconut around the grove all day like it's his baby. The whole grove is his playground and every coconut is either his friend or his outfit. Tiny elephant. Tinier trunk. Coconut everything.
