Rudy Common Kingfisher
Rudy is a flash of electric blue and burnt orange, zipping along the riverbank like he's always running late for something important. Rudy runs the local fish market down by the docks, and nobody — and I mean nobody — catches a fresher catch than him. He dives headfirst into the water at full speed, pops back up with breakfast, and acts like it's no big deal. Rudy's got a sharp eye, a sharper beak, and the kind of confidence that comes from being really good at one very specific thing.
"The common kingfisher, also known as the Eurasian kingfisher and river kingfisher, is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter."
